At Eric Sizler & Associates, we are committed to aiding our patients on their journey to better health. We understand that seeking help can be daunting, so we have complied a list of questions prospective patients frequently have before embarking in the therapeutic process. We aim to provide a safe and understanding space for all our clients so they can feel comfortable and confident entering their therapy experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to schedule an appointment and how do I know which therapist is the best fit for my specific needs and situation?

The best way to schedule an appointment is to call the office and speak with our office manager, Sue. Sue will gather some preliminary data and ask questions about what prompted you to reach out for help. Based on your situation and specific needs, Sue will match you with the therapist that is the best fit for you. If you have a specific therapist in mind that you would like to work with please let us know! If you happen to reach the voicemail box, we are either in a session with a client, or unable to answer at that time but will return you call as soon as possible.

I am interested in beginning therapy, but I don't know what to expect. How should I prepare for my first session?

You don't need to do anything special to prepare for your first session! Our therapists are here to meet you where you are and help you reach your personal goals. Some of our clients walk in the room with a notepad full of bullet points and important topics to address. Others prefer to let the therapist begin asking questions and allow the first session to take shape naturally between the client and the therapist. Whatever your style, our therapists will make the first session as comfortable as possible while also beginning the therapeutic process from day one!

My insurance covers mental health therapy. Does your office bill through insurance?

We currently accept Meritain Insurance at this time. For all other insurance providers we are considered Out of Network. We suggest speaking with a representative from the insurance company you work with to determine how much they cover for Out of Network providers. We are happy to provide receipts for reimbursement purposes

What happens if something comes up and I cannot attend my scheduled appointment? Do you have a cancellation policy?

We understand that occasionally things happen and appointments need to be rescheduled. We ask that you give our office at least a 48 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows the office to offer your spot to other clients who might need to be seen on our waitlist. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than a 48 hour notice are subject to a late fee.

I have attempted to fit therapy into my schedule, but between work, kids, and my own to do list it proved to be very difficult. What hours is your office open?

At Eric Sizler and associates we understand and appreciate how difficult it can be to fit one more thing into your already busy schedule. We offer morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend appointments to help accommodate our client's schedules.

The last therapist we saw didn't give us any information about the sessions with our kid. Will I be able to talk with the therapist about how sessions are going?

Yes! We value the child's right to privacy and confidentiality, and believe this can be respected while communicating with parents so they understand what is being discussed, why it is being discussed, and what can be expected as a result.
